App Store screenshot sizes 2026
iPhone screenshots
For the 6.9 inch display class, use 1320 x 2868, 1290 x 2796, or 1260 x 2736 px. If you only create one iPhone set, use the highest-resolution accepted export and let App Store Connect scale down where appropriate.
iPad screenshots
For iPad apps, create a 13 inch iPad set. Apple accepts 2064 x 2752 or 2048 x 2732 px for the primary iPad display class.
Mac screenshots
For Mac App Store screenshots, use landscape 16:10 exports such as 2880 x 1800, 2560 x 1600, 1440 x 900, or 1280 x 800 px.
Upload checks
Use PNG or JPEG, RGB color, exact pixel dimensions, and separate iPhone and iPad sets when the app supports both platforms.
The exact-pixel rule
Apple rejects screenshots that are even one pixel off the accepted dimensions. Always export from the source canvas at the final App Store size instead of scaling or cropping after export.
Why it matters
Every required and optional App Store screenshot dimension for iPhone, iPad, and Mac in 2026. Use this as an App Store Connect screenshot size checklist before you upload.
Screenshot design notes
The first screenshot behaves like an ad in search results. It should communicate the main user benefit in under two seconds. Caption text should be readable at thumbnail size and should reinforce the same keyword theme as your title and subtitle.
For non-English markets, localized screenshots usually matter more than another small metadata tweak. Start with the countries where App Store Connect already shows impressions but weak conversion.
RankPal workflow
- Select the device target in Screenshot Studio.
- Build the screenshot on a correctly sized artboard.
- Localize captions into target App Store locales.
- Export all artboards and locales in one batch.
RankPal loop
- Research keywords, markets, and competitors.
- Write metadata for each target locale.
- Localize screenshots and price points.
- Validate with Apple Ads and conversion data.
